Configure the Dialup Connection For Windows 2000

  1. Click on 'START Menu' | 'Settings' | 'Network and Dialup Connections'.
  2. Double-click on 'Make New Connection'.
  3. On the 'Welcome' screen, select 'I want to set up my Internet connection manually' and click on 'Next'.
  4. Select 'I connect through a phone line and a modem' and click on 'Next'.
  5. Enter the phone number for your Acelink connection. Make sure that 'Use area code and dialing rules' is not selected. Nashville Local access number - 760-9200
  6. Leave the area code field blank and put all digits in the phone number field. Click on 'Next'.
  7. Enter your login name.
  8. Enter your password. Make sure you are using all lowercase letters and that your Caps Lock is not on.
  9. Enter 'Acelink' for a connection name, and click on 'Next'.
  10. Next, you will be asked if you want to continue setting up an Internet Mail account. If you have no preference in web browsers, we recommend that you select 'Yes', and click on 'Next' to continue setup of the MS Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.
  11. Make sure to select the box for 'To connect to the Internet immediately...' and click on 'Finish'.
  12. Make sure that your Acelink username is listed correctly. Enter your password, and make sure you remove anything that appears in that field before typing your own password. You may select the 'Save Password' field, which may allow you to connect to Acelink in the future without having to re-enter your password. Click on 'Connect'.

You have now configured Windows2000 Dial-up Networking to connect to Acelink Communications.
