I have had MS since the fall of 1987.  If you don't know someone who has MS, you will.   There are informative links below, and in my Power Point Presentations, that may help you understand this chronic disease a little better.  Following these links will also provide you some insights to MS and those who live with it.

When, not if, you see someone parked in a Handicapped Parking Space who shouldn't be there, give them a Parking Ticket.  Even if you don't have a disability, it's your voice in society that counts.  Print out a page (or two) of tickets (4 per page) and USE THEM!!!  Let the offender know that they're stealing a parking spot that was reserved for a reason!

I have put together three Power Point  Presentations that might interest you, even if you don't have MS.  I made an animated view of Central United States Earthquakes (month by month) for my last presentation.  Take a look at it and see how they all add up (from May of 95-Dec 99 ... all 289 events).

There's a lot for everyone to learn (see if you can find my resume!) and enjoy in each journey we take through the internet.  Journey with me through my last (third) presentation Resources on the Internet for People With Multiple Sclerosis (PWMS) - 2000.

My second presentation for the 1999 annual meeting is still available.  Please let me know what you think about the presentations if you've got some time.

My first presentation was to our Nashville Self-Help Group.  The topic I was asked to give a presentation about, "MS Support On The Internet."  You don't have to have MS to find these presentations useful.  There are a lot of good (and safe) links provided in all three of the presentations.

My Resource Mega-List is more than just another huge list of resources available on the net.  Be aware that the links are a bit unordered, but everyone of them offers some interesting information.

Family First Here

Wright and parents.
The Early Days

This is one of the earliest photos of my father, Wright Ramsett Johnson, and his family.  My Aunt Mary Lou is not in the picture, but we'll work on that.  In the meantime take a look at who these folks are before going to our family tree pages!

My Brother Bruce's Hoocher World

Anyone know what a Hoocher Person is? Ask him, not me.
Actually He has many good links!  He's even got some good History lessons and other topics (recommended reading by the advanced Latin placement people) to explore, so don't (or do) be a Hoocher Person, either way just go there NOW!

A Journey Through the Years

I have now posted our family tree. It covers time from the 14th century (about 1310) to the present day. I am grateful to all of those folks who over time have made this collection of data possible.

Just A Song (or more)
A friend of mine, Tom Gerni, let me put one of his songs (Peach Brandy Waltz) into Real Audio format.  You'll probably even enjoy the waltz.  If a waltz isn't your choice, check out Randy Handley's music!

Randy Handley
Randy Handley has a CD you can buy (actually he has two now!!!)!  Mr. Rocky R. Dog has put together a Virtual World and a Microsoft Media Video using Randy's song "Trail of Tears" for your viewing and listening pleasure.
Although that song is not on his new CD it's still our favorite song.
I call the video Eye-Lant/Trail of Tears.

(was taken off line by iNBC and we're looking for a new home)
Yes friends it's true.  Rocky has started his very own web site.  He's doing some strange stuff that you might want to see.  To start with he's been exploring Virtual Worlds.  There's also a collection of Skycam photos that you'll want to see.  Want to view Mr. Rocky Dog's logo?
It's a great time to be alive!

Recently Mr. Rocky Dog discovered the use of Blaxxun's Interactive Virtual Worlds browser plugin.  If you don't have it, you should!  Go to Blaxxun now and get this plug-in download today and start using it to talk to others.
Besides, if you don't have the interactive plug-in this link won't work right for you.  It will provide you the links to get what you'll need.   It will take some time to load the World the first time!  Don't let that stop you.  The only thing needed there is you.  Our own world where we don't fall down.  Be sure not to miss the link to the interactive Brain Atlas link there!

IMSSF Logo

International MS Support Foundation
This site will simply blow you away.  Easy to spend a few days here looking around.  There are chat rooms, forums, RealAudio/Video clips, links and a bunch of other stuff too!  Jean Sumption and crew keep this site alive and updated on a regular basis.  The IMSSF is unique in the fact that it is run and directed by People with Multiple Sclerosis (PWMS).
Sorry I didn't put you here earlier Jean (and crew)!

Aapo's Logo for the "MS CrossRoads" page that he maintains!

MS Crossroads
This link is to Aapo Halko's site. Aapo lives in Helsinki where he still works as a mathematician. He has MS too. His site has links relating to current research, and other topics you don't want to miss!  By far THIS SITE IS THE BEST PLACE ON THE NET for people with MS, about MS!!!  If you've never been there, go there now, don't wait.

I decided to add Paul's site here.  He has an outstanding list of links and information about MS.  He has put his site together in a rather orderly manner.  Thanks for the email Paul!

If you ever need ANY KIND of disability aids, I suggest that you get in touch with Tom or Nancy Mead.  I needed batteries for my two scooters (in & outdoor).  I did the research on Monday, placed my order on Tuesday morning and the batteries arrived on Wednesday afternoon.  Come Back!!
You can't beat that for service!

(Tom understands first-hand what it's like to have a mobility problem himself!)

Local Stuff

News Channel 5
This is a great site.  They let me use their Skycam.  Excellent resource for news.  Plus, they have a long history on the net for providing state of the art news coverage first.

The Tennessean
This is the local Nashville daily paper.  If you want a morning paper, this is it.  A good starting point for what's happening around town.

Cool Spots In Nashville (Thanks Joel Moses)
Joel worked for the Nashville Scene, once upon a time.  I wonder where he is now.  The (correct) Tennessee state flag on this page will link you to a list of some other Tennessee sites.

Nashville Scene
The Scene has a great Movie selection page for local theaters. I use as a great way to get local news too.  Not to mention their City Guide!  Good local resource here!

My Fun Stuff Resources

Cameras On The Net!
A short list of cameras. (I stole this page at first but have also added to it!)

Even More Cameras On The Net
A longer list of cameras. In fact, this list was recently validated, too!

My Bookmarks
Okay, here's the scoop.  This page started out as my bookmarks file when I first started surfing the net in 1995.  I guess I'm that old.  Brain damage causes me to forget some things, most of the time.  There really is a lot of good links on the list.  I don't have descriptions of where I've been.  For that you'll have to do it yourself.  Let me know when you're done!

Smokers' Rights and Info:Token Smiley

FORCES USA - Better America Free Than America Smoke-Free!  What "choice" will they take away next?

The National Smokers Alliance - Dedicated to Protecting Individual Freedoms.  Isn't that why we fought all those wars and what we stand for as a country?

Friends of Tobacco - grass-roots organization dedicated to preserving an essential part of America's history and future.  Did you know the founders used tobacco as money?

A legacy of Music!

The song you are listening to is, "Last Date."  This is the song we danced to at our wedding.  Go ahead and ask your love to dance with you!

I have included "Last Date." on this page with Don Carroll's permission.  Don has lot's of other great tunes at his site.  Last Date was originally written and performed by Floyd Cramer.

IN MEMORY OF Floyd Cramer:
Floyd Cramer passed from this life here in Nashville on December 31, 1997.  "Last Date," (which he wrote) only reached the number 2 spot in the top 10.  The number 1 hit at that time was "Are You Lonesome Tonight?";  Floyd played the piano on that song, too.  He will be remembered for many years to come.
Thank you, Mr. Cramer, for the legacy of your music.

Music:  Don Carroll's version of "Last Date."
