The Truth Is Out There

Now you've learned all about the internet.  You've also been shown what types of resources are available to you to use.  Now how do you find what you want?  Remember search engines?  Try as many as you want.  Find the one that's easiest for you.  They all do basically the same thing.  Like everything else, some do it better than others.  What you want to find is your choice.  You may not be aware of the numerous web addresses that are in the magazine you just finished (but I bet you are).  Almost every website has a "links" page where you can either find similar information or complimentary information.   Follow those links and see if they might be of use.  It doesn't take long to see if a website is of use to you.

Who can I trust?  It would be nice if you could believe everything you read.  Guess what?  Like you've heard before, "Trust no one."  The web is just an extension of what you already know as printed material.  It's just a lot easier for everyone to do it and it's easier for you to find it.  Just because you read it on the web doesn't mean that it's true!  You have to compare your findings with other sources you trust.

I firmly believe that most sites are telling the truth as they perceive it to be.  That doesn't mean that it's your truth.  Particularly PWMS have to be on guard.  We have an incurable illness (at today it is).  That makes all of us targets for every snake oil (that's actually been done too!) treatment that can be thought of.  How many ways can you cure hiccups?  Everybody has a sure fire way to do that don't they?  I know, one steroid treatment I took gave me the hiccups for seven days straight (24 hours all day and night).  Needless to say that by the time they went away I knew every remedy known and then some.  None of them worked, by the way.  It's up to you, like everything else is, to find a resource you can trust.

So, where do you want to go?  How about adding your own two cents worth?  I'll bet you're paying for a website right now and not using it to do anything.  Most Internet Service Providers give you space for your own website.   It's part of your monthly fee.  AOL users get it, Compuserve folks get it, even my ISP provides webspace.  You can even get free web space from YaHoo or Netscape or ... there are just too many places to list that offer you free resources to build your own site.  The internet is fast becoming the embodiment of all human knowledge.  It won't be complete without yours added to it.

Any Questions?
